I need to know the year of that changer.
The speed control has no control over the setdown point on any Collaro changer. The changer uses other means to determine the setdown point.
Before you adjust the setdown point, check these things:
1. Check that the stylus is not bent. If it is deflected to one side (e.g. it came out of its saddle), the arm can miss the edge of the record.
2. Check that the records are not warped. A warped record can test as the wrong size.
3. Make sure the tonearm tip is properly touching the record edge during the size scan (models after 1957). If the overarm is bent, the tonearm height is misadjusted, or the records are not level, the scan will fail to find the right size. This picture shows correct scan operation:

4. When mixing different record sizes, the largest records must be on the bottom of the stack, with smaller records above larger ones.
5. Some 78 rpm, records have no lead-in grooves.
Turn any adjustment screw just a small amount (1/8 turn) at a time.
On the changer pictured below, the setdown adjustment is reached through a hole in the turntable. Lift the edge of the rubber turntable pad, look for the hole, and rotate the turntable so the hole is near the back end of the pickup arm. You will find a large slotted screw head on an eccentric adjustment. Since this is mounted on the change cycle cam, the adjustment must be made when the changer is out of cycle.

On the next changers pictured, the adjustment is the screw slot in the hole in the plinth between the tonearm shaft and the tonearm rest post. You can see it in the second picture, under and to the right of the pickup arm:

On changers newer than 1967, the adjustment screw is on the right side of the tonearm, behind the hinge. Do not change the screws that point down. This should help you find it:

On pre-Conquest Collaros (before 1958), there is a size selector post next to the overarm shaft. The falling record selects the size by striking the protruding finger. These have two screws that hold the pickup arm to its shaft. You adjust the setdown point by loosening one screw slightly and then tightening the other one:
