Hi
The nsm cd jukeboxes in my opinion are fairly reliable, the only downside with cd jukeboxes is the laser assembly which needs to be repaired/replaced every so often but that's the same with all cd jukeboxes. Also a common failure with them is the ram battery which it is known as but is actually a chip but it only costs roughly 15 to twenty dollars to replace. The battery fails as most of them were manufactured back in the late 80's early 90's

Clones,
Are you sure it's a "chip"--I thought it was a Data-Save" unit ( fancy name for a common battery !)

Hi Ron
The suppliers usually describe it as a ram timekeeper chip some as a ram battery

Hi Clones,
Yes-- the very first ones I saw fail were marked "DataSave", I think. On the schematic, they were marked with the battery symbol, and voltage. So, one day when I needed one I tried a "generic" NiCad battery---worked fine, at a fraction of the cost. Look at any that need replacement--if it has only two active terminals ( a plus/minus) my bet would be it's a NiCad-- Ron Rich

Hi
Is there no sound at all or very little sound?, the sound is usually controlled through the remotes but you probably have one

no it does work fine, sound is normal. but comparing to Pioneer Laser Juke cj-v55 the pioneer is much much better sound. Maybe because pioneer has a base and trebel analog control?. NSM Performer Grand II doesn't have an equalizer control compare also to Rowe CD100.
