ic5 battery for nsm performer classic

by bayowl » Thu Dec 29, 2011 4:49 pm

Hi, can anybody please help. I have an NSM performer classic which is displaying er31 and wont play any cds. From doing a bit of research it sounds lke it is the ic5 chip/battery but I cant get one from anywhere. I have also read that these can somehow be reprogrammed but am not sure how, I am not very technically minded! Can somebody help please, many thanks!!!

If it's a battery, you must replace it--- It would help if you put your location in your profile, and it might also help if you would ID the model, of the phono, by "ES number".

There should be an ID Tag somewhere on the cabinet. It will give a "model number", or, the main IC on the board should have a paper label on it stating the ES version number. The battery itself, should have the info printed on it, needed to replace it--Ron Rich

Hello Bayowl,

Sorry I do not know your name. If you send me a PM. I will dig out some roving repair engineers in the UK that work on NSM.

Glad you got it--but I think it is just a battery--no "programming" ? Ron Rich

I know that this conversation is quite out of date now but I have the same problem. I have a NSM Performer Classic and I am looking for a UK supplier of the IC5 battery/chip. I would really appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Thank you

Please read all of the "informational" (circled "I"), and "stickies" ( circled "lines") above. You should find local UK suppliers listed there, amongst other things, that can help you. Ron Rich
