Magnavox Astro Sonic Newbie

Please, if anyone can help guide me through my newly aquired 60's (?)
Magnavox Astro Sonic....I would appreciate some knowledge.

I grew up listening to my Mothers model....but this one I just got as a gift from my husband. It seems older than hers....but it doesnt work near as well.

I am trying first to figure out the year. Can't seem to find anything to help me with that......where do I look ?

I noted in my first post that I thought this one was older than my Mother's (which I think is a 1967) but I meant it seemed newer than hers. Maybe even early 70's ?
Not sure....

Ok....working on posting the inner section pics of the radio to help me (you) identify the model and year.
the player needs a new needle!

It looks very similar.....Its so hard to tell for sure becasue tehre are subtle differences, but maybe this will help me get a new needle!

I noticed my pics look dark.....did anyone have trouble seeing them ?

You are correct the cabinet is not the same, I have looked again on youtube and there are a number of different cabinet types. Your picture shows the lower panels are the same as the links I sent you but the top is different and the two panels at the bottom at the left and right hand side are not the same. Your Magnavox looks as if it is longer than the ones I have seen.

I could see your pictures better when I got home my laptop shows pictures better than my pc at work.

So when I go to the music shop to get a new needle. Do I ask for one to fit a 1968 you think ?
Will that be a safe assumption ?

Are there any markings or numbers on the cartridge? if not I would put some pictures of the cartridge and needle on this forum.

I will take a look. I need to ty and figure out how to actually replace the needle. Im trying to feel around underneath the arm....but cant tell much.
Im so new to all of this I just have no clue!
But it gives me something to look forward to.

I just somehow pulled out the needle handle (small balck piece) and it has this lisetd on it

"MA LPS"

No #'s or anything...just the letters.

Its very hard to read....would any of these make sense ?
