Seeburg USC1 Bandshell Jukebox DES Question

by rkwoody » Sun Jan 17, 2016 3:29 pm

My first post - very informative site!

I have owned my Seeburg for over 30 years. It is acting up when you try and select records. Sometimes it will pick up the one you select, other times it may play a different record that is maybe slightly off your selection (ex. play 157 when you chose 167) and other times it won't even recognize your selection...it was cycle back and forth to look but will then shut off. Also, some of the numbers on the DSD will not illuminate. I've tested the connector points and there is no current on those that won't illuminate...the others register very low amperage. Regarding record selecting, I did remove DES to ensure the buttons were working OK. They seemed to be OK although some made more of a clicking sound when you push them down all the way and others do not. I assume the clicking may mean that the digit was accepted correctly? Any thoughts on if there are adjustments I can make or parts that should be replaced would be appreciated. Thank you.

Easy to edit your post--scroll down see the arrow pointing right--just click it and you will be allowed to edit your post--
( I will do it for you this time)
As for you jukebox problems--you will need to follow a trouble shooting procedure. There is a "general one", on line at (the late) Tony Millers site. See posts above for the link--Or, I wrote a specific trouble shooting guide, that covers all the MicroLog models ( yours included). You will also need a copy of the Service Manual for the USC-1, to use my guide ! The manual can be purchased at any of the several places listed above. PM me if you wish to purchase a copy. I do have service manual - I will review trouble shooting procedure as suggested. Are most parts still available for this model jukebox? I have found replacement bulbs & smaller parts on E-bay, etc. but not components like the DES, DSD or DCC.

Thank you!

One more question on my USC1 Seeburg jukebox. I adjusted the contacts so the numbers all light up when a record selected. All selections will play except for those ending with the '9' digit (on either side of the record) Any insights? I've been studying my manuals and haven't figured this one out yet. Thanks in advance.
