M100C Factory Case Finishing & keeping it original

Have seen lots of images on the internet for finishes on Seeburg M100C jukeboxes. And, from what I've seen and read, it looks like some variation on imitation wood was one of the most popular. As noted in another post, my machine has what I'll describe, for lack of better, as a "spatter paint" type of vinyl or wallpaper-ish material.

To my untrained eye, it appears to be original. I'm just curious if anyone knows how many types of finishes Seeburg used?

Also, with so much re-veneering done to these cases, how do you judge keeping something original, versus redoing? I ask because mine appears to be original, with what I would think is typical wear--on the edges and such. Assuming the accretion of crud cleans up well, my inclination is to keep it original.

All Seeburg C's were EXACTLY the same, as they used the "DiNoc" photo process on the cabinet finish. Still available today, made by 3M.

Interesting. Makes sense they would have a narrow range of offerings. And, agreed that the look is all in the eye of the beholder!

Checking on what I've read elsewhere, is it true the conversion from the revolving color mechs/opaque pilasters to chrome was due to breakage of the plastic pilasters? Or was it a case of both breakage and not wanting to repair the rotating mechanism? Looking in my cabinet, I see the residual gear mounted up front--that I assume operated both mechs, as well as holes where I believe the mech and motor would have been mounted.

Zebrawood is the easy part, here is the real test for you, no search feature will bring up zebrawood and there over 600 styles. Do you know 3M's part No., two letters and then a series of numbers?

I flunked all the "Z's" in school--all I can remember about Zebra's, is Part of an old joke ( Maybe Bob Hope told it ?), about a girl wearing a Zebra costume ? And on the subject of wood-all I know is my Dog likes to eat it !
