Hi All,
Have been reading all the post on how to set micro cams, I set mine as per service manual on this model 426 but still can't get micro switch #2 to place tone arm on record
I had two problems in begining one, it wouldn't cancel record ( changed coil which I found burnt) this condition is somehow tied in to switch #2 sometime coil gets hot ???two, problem described above, if I manually engage switch after record on table tone arm will set on record it almost seems that cam lobe doesn't engage switch long enough have read manual over and over I must be missing the secret
here.Everything else seems pretty good. If anyone can clue me as to the problem would sure appreciate it.

I have limited experience in Rock-olas. What you are describing sounds like the resistor that gets put into series with the gripper motor to slow it down may be open.

When you hold down that micro switch you may notice that the motor runs at the same speed that it does during the rest of the handling cycle. It should in fact slow down just as the arm begins to approach the disk.

The resistor is in the control box on the mech, which IIRC was still where the service switch is located.
