Rockola 1426 colored cylinders

Hi, I just aquired a rockola model 1426. It has
2 colored cylinders on either side of front door.
Are these supposed to spin? It doesn't have any obvious
Mechanism for this. Wondering what parts may be

Sounds like the motors are missing or broken. You may have more problems. Victory Glass sells the motors for $60 per pair. You have your choice of 3 or 5 RPM motors. A 1426 is a nice box to have especially if it's your first one. Is it set for 78s or 45s?

If my memory serves me--those do not have motors--look at the tops of them--covered,"slitted", sitting on a point??
Then they work via convection, as the lamp heats up, they should spin from the heat generated--Ron Rich

Don't know which motors you saw at VG--they sell many types for different things--
On yours--the "point"of the rod must be kept clean, as well as the "inside" where it goes--ONE DROP of 20 wt. ND oil works wonders there- Ron Rich

Quick info update.
There were indeed convection run
Rotating tubes on pre-war rockolas.
The 1947 rockola 1426, used the 3rpm
Motors as standard.
