Hf100R Sluggish Keys

Weird problem I've not seen covered elsewhere... The keys on my 100R will stick for several seconds for the first several selections after turning the machine on, every time. Issue improves as more selections are made. No issues with mech or playing, just the keys. I have not recapped the receiver (did the amp) and have a free play box installed. Is it just the receiver?

Carl, im y experience them most frequent causes of this are;

1) Pitted contacts on the timing relay (credit unit).

2) Residual magnetism in the latchbar solenoid.

3) Gummy old oil in the credit wheel and it's linkage. This would account for why things improve after a bit of "exercise". Take the cover off the credit unit and observe its operation.

The first one should be dealt with as it can cause burned out coils. The second is just an annoyance.

Rob's nailed it--I usually find that the credit wheel is sluggish, when I encounter this problem--20 wt ND oil can be "worked" into the credit wheel shaft, in most cases, without dis-assembly. The simple test for this, with power OFF, "pull" the cancel coil plunger in--if it does NOT "snap back", the problem is the wheel--
Another thing that is fairly common--the internal "return springs" in the latch bar solenoid are broken off, and lodge inside the plunger area. Same type, power off, test applies here--if this is the problem, usually you can "shake out" the broken parts-and it will function OK--if not, a replacement solenoid is called for--Ron Rich

Latch bar is new as some other "tech" burned out the original while apparently attempting to "fix" the machine. Will check all as advised and let you know!

If new, izzit the correct one--installed correctly--no "binds" ?
